RAVENLOFT KETCHUP PART 2

We last left our adventurers outside the church of Barovia.

The party decides to go to the local shop.
They are greeted by a odd man named Bildrath. Jakothia asks for cloves of garlic to wear and buys them for a price. Also Alehandro finds some banded armor and trades it for his necklace.

The party leaves the shop and heads off toward the castle. About a half way toward the fork in the road the party encounters 3 Large Wolfs/Wargs and fends them off without much issue.

They continue on into the night and as the morning comes they encounter the fork. Sir Jakothia say's left, Alehandro and the dwarf say right.

We go right. Halfway down the trail we find a camp of gypsies. They clap and cheer at us and tell us to come and dance. Madam Eva would like to see you!

Jakothia decides to go inside Evas cart. Alehandro stays right outside to listen.
Ellock and the two soldiers stay outside with the festivities.

A room draped with cloth in the middle a table.  Madam Eva a old estranged krone laughs and cackles and tells Jakothia that fortune and destiny has lead him here.

I ask Jakothia to roll some dice.
Madam Eva starts to shuffle some cards.

She points to the Cards in order.

A 10 of Spades.
"This card is a symbol of great power. It tells of a powerful force for good and protection against the forces of darkness. This is in a place of dizzying heights that all loathe to travel. The road winds ever upwards and the rocks themselves live here. The spade is a dark shadow of evil cast over that place. You fight under it's influence here."

A king of Diamonds.

"This cards tells of history. Knowledge of the ancient may help you understand your foe. A kings throne is the place to find this. The Diamond blesses your skill here, but bodes poorly for your protection."
A 7 of Hearts.

This is the object of your search! Ah! I see darkness and evil behind this card! It is a powerful man whose enemy is the light, and whose powers are beyond mortality. You may find this amid the ruins of a place of supplication. There is a very good influence here, if you are there the powers of good will aid you."
             The 5 of clubs.

"This card is good for you. It is a card of power and strength, the victors card. It tells of a weapon of light, a weapon with a vengeance. You should seek for a carefully hidden place of great worldly wealth. I see a blazing fire protecting the place. The club sustains your strength here, but holds you from your victory, taking more time then otherwise would."

Madam Eva goes on

"And here is the root card. Out of Darkness and Chaos, this card find the reason and foundation for darkness and chaos. This card shows the purpose of all things. It is the key to life and death else beyond.
             A 3 of clubs.

Not yet, but soon, one who appears to be your friend will become your enemy.
Now go begone and may fortune be in your favor."

Alehandro listens and keeps note of what Eva said.

The party leaves the camp and heads towards a separate bridge across towards Castle Ravenloft.
They come across a intersection at it a large coach and two black horses. As they approach it's doors swing open.

Jakothia searches it and sits inside. Alehandro steps in with the two men-at-arms. Ellock tries to reign the horses to no avail. He goes up to one and looks at it. It stares at him and petrifies him.

Alehandro grabs him by the britches and tosses Ellock into the carriage and the horses head off toward CASTLE RAVENLOFT

RAVENLOFT KETCHUP PART 1

OH GOD WHERE HAVE I BEEN!
So to start let's get the first 3rd out of the way this is the town section.

Last we left the party of Sir Jakothia the Paladin, Ellock the Dwarven Thief and Alehandro the half-elf Ranger. They had Received a letter from a estranged man. The letter  that concerned Barovia's Burgomeister and his daughters health.

They decided to go to Barovia and help! They pack up their things and head to their quarters, as they do two men at arms they had saved earlier come up to them and say they will help, but they need weapons.

So Sir Jakothia and Ellock decide to pitch in and hand them some shields they found, as well as buying them Plate mail, helmets, and Some Battle Axes to Carry.

Before the leave they ask the Casttelan about Barovia. He tells them. "No one ever goes in, and no one ever comes out." They ask for more information, and he tells them that no one has ever returned from Barovia.

They gather up their things and head to Barovia.

The trek is long, but they make it to the Barovian Forest path.

The party is going down the dark Barovian road. The party soon notices a gate in front of them. with two stone statues, both decapitated. As they Draw near the Gate swings open and then shuts soon after with a rusty clang.

As they head down the road, Alehandro and Jakothia notice a body and near the roadside.
It's rotting with decay. Jakothia goes to inspect it and notices a parchment in it's hand.

The parchment is a letter, Fairly old, somewhat aged. Of a similar note to a before letter yet far older.
Speaking of the burgomeisters daughter and being bitten by a vampyr. As well as the need for help.

The party makes way towards the town located in Barovia it seems mainly deserted. The sound of crying is heard through the town.

The first thing Jakothia decides to do is ask around town. He knocks on a door. No answer.
He says "I kick it open". He rolls a 18 and breaks the door off it's hinges. Inside they find a woman and her husband in the corner with looks of fear. Jakothia's presence somewhat calms them, but they looked perturbed.

"What do you want?" the man says, " I hear of a vampire problem?"
"Shhh we do not talk of that."
"Where is this vampire?"  The villager points to a castle through the window.

"Now go leave my home!"  Ellock fixes the door the best he can and they leave toward the center of the town.

The town is dark and the sound of weeping is still there. They party decides to head toward the closest light source the Blood on/of the vine Taven. As the enter four men sit at a table near the entrance and drink. The Barkeep seems to be compulsively cleaning glasses.

Alehandro looks about and notices a man in the corner hooded and drinking alone. He informs the party of the man. Jakothia buys a drink and hands it to the man at the table.

I:"What do you want?" J: I hear that there is an issue of a Vampire in this land."
I:"SSHHh keep down, what concern of it does it have with you"  J: Well we found these letters and.."
I:"Let me see that. As I thought."  J: Is there anything we can do to help the letters explain about a girl"
I:"If you concern yourself do you even know her name?" J:" Ireena kolyana isn't it?"
Ismark: "I am Ismark Second son of the late burgomeister. Come with me"

The party heads towards a mansion with creaky gates and dark looming shadows.

They enter the old house and Ismark tells them that the letter that was sent to them was not from the hands of his father and that the man on the road must of been him. He points out that they were relentlessly attacked by wolves till his older brother died.

Ismark tried his best to preserve his body, since the dead do no rest in Barovia.

He leads them to a chamber upstairs where Ireena is and explains his and her Condition. That Count Strahd the once ruler of this land did this to her and she has yet to turn. Jakothia senses evil and can tell she is mostly good, but inside her lurks a dark threat untapped.

They discuss thier issue and tell them that Strahd resides in Castle Ravenloft.
Jakothia asks about where he can find some books in the town or any information and Ismark tells him of the church.

They head toward the Church and Speak to the Priest there he hands them an old book on the history of the land. He explains that Barovia was part of a larger kingdom, but soon the old king died. Barovia was ruled by Lord Strahd and soon the residing Lands warred for control. Barovia survived. The book hasn't detailed more. Though of recent history the Priest goes on.

After the War Strahd stopped showing himself around the towns of Barovia. The main city in which this town is. Is not far more decrepit and dead. One night a Man was seen said to be the Lordship himself. Screams were heard and a girl with bite marks was found in an alley. Some say that the last person to see Lord Strahd was that girl. That Strahd had been turned into an otherworldy Vampyr the legends say.

The Priest says that that's about what he can tell him other then the wolf attacks.
As the party leaves dusk sets in and they see from the graveyard Ghosts facing away from them and staring at castle Ravenloft.

See part 2 and 3 for a continuation soon!
Did you know there is a REAL Castle Ravenloft! Sadly unless these pictures are old it is out of shape and needs to be restored. It would be a great place for larpers and renfairs that could be state owned or part of a historical reservation association.

Day 14 D&D Blog Challenge

DAY 14
Favorite NPC
Well As I've said I haven't Had too much experience. Yet today I was able to introduce Count Strahd.
He's a cool Villain and I played up the whole accent and cape thing. He's a powerful and formidable foe.
I can't say much more. My friends old villain was a lowly merchant named Bertoli, who had insidious plans and became a near god amongst men until the party faced off with him. Quiet funny stuff to have an Italian merchant become a muscle bound god with a curly mustache.

Day 13 of 30

Day 13
Favorite trap/puzzle
Due to my lack of experience as a DM I feel this one is sort of hard. Beyond a few small traps in the KATB I haven't done much. Now video game wise. I can tell you something.

I would have to say puzzle reminiscent to Legend of Zelda puzzles would be pretty cool to use or encounter. They're all about switches and doors and keep you on your toes for a new thing to open each time. Wish I could say more.

Day 12 of 30

DAY 12
Favorite Dungeon Type or location
I haven't read or gone through many dungeons. Yet I think my favorite or one of the most interesting is "white plume mountain". It's a terribly difficult and ordeal of a dungeon. I mean literally I think they PC's would die of exhaustion before the monsters got to them do to the atmosphere. Though maybe not. It's hella tricky and doesn't take prisoners.

REAPER BONES!

You see all this!
I'll be getting it December of 2014!

Recently a very cool friend of mine Kieth was able to donate the 100 dollars to the Reaper Bones II kickstarter for me.
I'm really excited, but it's a long wait, but it will be worth it. At the moment I have been applying to local stores to save up money and buy art supplies on the side. I'm excited there are some great figures here!

If you want to know more see here:

Day 11 of 30 D&D blog Challenge

DAY 11
Favorite Adventure run
What more can I say Keep on the borderlands. Or I should say my current adventure.
I can't reveal where it's headed on here. Yet this 5 part epic zelda inspired quest is defiantly something that will blow my players away if we have time time. I have more news too. I will make a new post.

Back to the keep though KOTB is a good starter adventure for DM's with LOTS of imagination. Though it's very open ended and for some New DM's it's not a good choice even I had trouble with it.

Though my mind juices have been churning and the Caves of Chaos are definitely going to get crazy once the adventure comes to it's climax.

Campaign Ketchup 7

We last left our heroes in triumph over the Orc Leader!

Their brash means of combat were able overpower the orcs and defeat them.

The party is now in the Orc Leaders room and decides it's time to leave.

We all exit and continue on to the unexplored area.
They find the cave exit and two pathways left and right.

Sir Jakothia leads the party back and forth between the two and we slay our way out of the dungeon.

As we do this Alehandro get's caught in a rope trap, but is rescued by Ellock.

We continue on out of the Caves and back to town. Jakothia returns to the church for a time.

The party rests for a week and decides to round up their treasure. We decide the gold and sell the loot!

We decide to rest for the time and head to the tavern.

After a while the night draws in a fog comes over.

A man walks in with colorful clothes and a hat.

He speaks to the party about his master and a letter.

Hands them a paper, and leaves a big bag of gold on the counter for drinks for the party.

They read the letter. It's a plea from a man about his daughter a burgomaster, pleading for help for his ill daughter. Sir Jakothia feels they should help. So does Ellock. Alehandro agrees with whatever Sir Jakothia says. We plan out journey.

Welcome to Barovia.

We're looking forward to your visit.
The Paladin

The thief

The Elf

Day 10 of 30 D&D blog Challenge.

DAY 10
Crazy!
The oddest and most outlandish thing so far I've encountered or done would have to be the time I played during a Halloween game and basically was the only one left in the party still awake.
The DM was sort of grim dark and sadly I was the only one committed to the game.
I was the cleric and had to survive by stepping away and keeping zombies at bay till I killed them.
Also all at 1 hp. It was really tense and dramatic for me and the few left.

9 of 30 D&D Blog Challenge

DAY 9
Favorite Character you haven't played.
A rogue, I have never played a rogue or dick ass thief. I'd love to though. It's one of the more interesting classes that has more at it's disposal then others. I'll keep this short. Yeah, but a rogue would be awesome!

Day 8 of 30 D&D 30 Day Challenge

I haven't played a full campaign of D&D only a few games that I did not continue I can't really say I had a character I grew to love. Yet the funniest I portrayed would of been my Wizard for AD&D he had a silly voice and wore silly shoes and more. I wanted him to stand out, yet not many of the games I joined I was involved in enough to stay or the people I was playing with turned me off from the game.

Keep on the Borderlands Ketchup 6

Sorry for not posting in two days we haven't had as much time to play.

We last left our heroes in a room full of angry Orcs.
The Battle was long and the party grew weak. Alehandro was knocked unconscious for a while and the party was able to over come the Orcs in the end.

The party decided to press on past the eating hall to the top of the dungeon.
We arrived at an intersection and found a locked door. Jakothia tried to bang his way into it, but after five unsuccessful shoves the thief Ellock got it open!

Inside they found an assortment of weapons and supplies which at this moment I can't recall, but regular loot. We discovered a crossbow and some bolts, 2 axes, and 4 swords.

We continued down the left hall, and came to a door. Sir Jakothia rolled to peak in and rolled a 1 the door slammed open and combat started.

Inside was the Orc Chief with his two mates engage us in combat the round goes and
Alehandro deals enough damage to scare off the chief.

We kill the two others and search the room. I find a hidden room and we discover 2 spears, 2 suits of chainmail. Sir Jakothia and the rest of the party search for another door and find the middle room hidden by the revolving wall.

They find a hidden room with no other doors. Inside a few barrels and a chest and a large table in the middle.  Sir Jakothia searches the barrels and finds some old stagnant water, but he notices some bags behind them.

As he does this a Giant Centipede jumps out and latches onto Jakothias arm. Though is unable to penetrate his plate mail.  He flails his arms trying to get it away and Ellock kills it with his trusty daggers.

Ellock decides to check the bag's and notices the other Centipede and stabs it thoroughly.
Inside they find a small wealth of money.

Alehandro points out the chest and they find a small supply of weapons.
We all search the room for another door, the Orc leader must of been somewhere.
We find it and peak through an notice a long hallway.

The party continues on and about 50 feet further there is a door to our right.
Jakothia opens it and a guard sounds for alarm and engages combat.
Two other Orcs show up in the hallway and fight Alehandro and the Cleric.

The Guard is not worry for Sir Jakothia, and we get rid of the other two.

As we enter the room the Orc Chief wields his Axe and hits Jakothia for 2.
Ellock and the Cleric don't hit.
Two rounds pass and Alehandro rolls a 20! Double damage, and then another round another 20!
The Orc Chief is dead.

The Orc Chief has a expensive looking Silver and gold jewled belt. With a gold armlet and an axe.
They take the belt and armlet.
There's a chest in the room with some money and a rope. Alehandro takes the rope. and The rest of the party devides the gold.

That's where we ended and I will continue next time.

We are planning on getting some Reaper Bones mini's and paint them. so I won't have to rely on the Heroscape figurines all the time.

Day 7 of 30 D&D Blog Challenge

DAY 7
Favorite Edition
This one could easily be summed up to 1st. Yet honestly I feel that first is limited. I feel more at home with 3rd with houserules. I love D&D no matter what version you are playing as long as the DM is good and the players want to be involved the game can be fun.

I like 3rd due to it's skills and also progressive leveling system. Though in the end it ends up being more like 2nd ed with choosing a path and staying with it.

In the end I like third better for most extent. I enjoy D&D, I don't enjoy edition wars.

Thoughts on AD&D DMG

The DMG for AD&D is AWESOME, and
not so awesome.
BEHOLD THE TOME OF KNOWLEDGE!
I own the officially fixed 4th printing of the DMG it was the
first to have a ISBN and it did not have any printing errors with the
Monster manual Mistakes.
See: http://www.acaeum.com/ddindexes/setpages/dmg.html
for details on DMG printings.

Pros
It's got all the info you need to fit along side the PHB
Charts n stuff
How to generate stuff.
Great advice.

Cons
Unorganized as my room.
Minor rules mentioned in sub paragraph A of chapter 5.
Good example is the rule on great helms and combat in the armor section.
It's ridiculous.
It's just poorly organized as said above.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I own one of the later printings of the PHB
I love the DMG guide it's awesome you need it for most, but due to it's orderliness I can't use it during play, beyond combat charts.
I really love the hirelings section there's so much to learn about.
Sages are interesting and I don't know if anyone has ever used them.
Random Dungeon generating is arduous but cool.
The monster list while simple is indispensable if you don't have a monster manual.
In the end the DMG is mandatory to play AD&D sadly, It's a great book, but due to it's "bulk of things you may never use" and" rules of major importance in nooks and crannies" it's really very frustrating to flip through.
Your best bet is to just use the major parts of the book for character creation and combat and leave it at that.  I still read it. It's something that interests me, but it's not user friendly as much as the PHB is.
I do not own Unearth Arcana I only own the main two books
~~~~~~~~
Well if the DMG isn't your cup of Tea?

Not for sure if you need a PHB with this
I've seen one for the OSIRC though.
Your best bet is to look for the OSIRC pdf or book. It's basically classic rpg AD&D with a few others thrown in reorganized and fixed so that you don't need to scour the records to only find a paragraph saying "Beware of the Leopard" haha.

What are your thoughts on the DMG I personally feel it should of got a major revision more in line of how the PHB was charted.

The only option we have now is the OSIRC or maybe another system like DCC if you want modern organization.

The AD&D DMG is like a layer dip.
Really good parts here and there, and odd crunchy bits you may or may not like.

http://www.knights-n-knaves.com/osric/index.html
Get OSIRC here!

This is all my opinion if you don't like it then shoot me, but what do you think?

Keep on the Borderlands Ketchup 5

Due to the limited time we had today I won't be covering much today.

So the next day our adventurers decide to return to the keep.
Jakothia spends his time at the church.
We all rest up.
Ellock Sells the owl bear pelt, and Jakothia is able to sell the jeweled goblet for a heft sum of 1250 he bartered with the trader till he gave in.

The party decides to return to the caves.
And enters Cave B the Orc lair to the top right.
They enter and Notice one of the skulls ( an orc skull) out of place, then in a blink it's back.
Sir Jakothia decides to TAKE the skull.

With this the guards to the right room are alerted, but they are easily dispatched!
Our party takes the electrum and moves on to the Hall.
The large dining room is completely empty, but far ahead are orcs in the next room.
The Party ventures forth to face the O
rcs and are surprised by their numbers
17 ORCS!  Without a moment to spare out session ends.
Nasty brutes!
Sir jakothia had a medical appointment so we were unable to do more as he arrived late.

Day 6 of 30 D&D 30 Day Challenge!

DAY 6
Favorite deity
The classical statue of Hercules.
I've flipped through the deities and demi-gods book my father has owned over the years.
It's like flipping through a tome of lost lore left to rot, but found by some odd adventurers.
The books got old water damage and dead mold in it, it's got character though if I can I'll upload a few pics later of it.

So Deity, I think It's either Thor or Hercules, Hercules though I think is way cooler.
When summoned he comes out guns ablazing and just does a massive
amount of damage, he's also an amazing berserker, but will sometimes hit allies.

Keep on the Borderlands Ketchup 4

Hey everyone time for another day of adventure.
Last time we left our adventurers
Sir Jakothia had leveled up and now has 19 Hp.
Oh and we obtained a valuable Goblet.
The new map we are using see below for side 2.
We were in cave G "the Shunned Cavern".
The party decided to look around and we run into some nasty rats that were quickly slain.
Next they came across the sleeping Owl Bear and were able to sneak up on it deal a fair amount of damage and then kill it with surprising ease
If not for the cleric taking most of the damage.
They searched the room and discovered the Scroll of Protection from undead.

They decided to leave and went to one of the other Caverns. Cave A The Kobold lair.
Right off the bat Alehandro and Sir Jakothia get swept up by a pit trap. Though Ellock our Dwarven Thief is able to disarm it by finding a hidden mechanism to open it.
Due to the trap triggering the Kobolds are alarmed, they can't hit us though due to the pit.
The Cleric gets some rope out of his bag and we get hauled back up.
Jakothia finds some wood near the entrance a makes a bridge and engages the rowdy kobolds.
We kill about 6 of them and the last two run away towards their master.

We discuss where to go and we follow the kobolds.
We get to a intersection go to either keep going east or north.
We keep going East and discover a room full of Kobolds 17 to be exact!
(I got rid of the female and children due to the issue of this.) So we take them by surprise as they are all panicking and mow most of them down. (The bell is about to ring so we have to wrap it up)
The Cleric says "Enough!" and fires a red orb and blasts the room of kobolds with fire!
Sir Jakothia and Ellock don't know what to make of it.

They decide to camp out and later that night and Jakothia has a dream.
His patron Talos is unpleased by his lack of service to the church and decides that he will be warned
Sir Jakothia is nerfed now and everyone is happy. From now on though when he's at the keep he will pay 10 gold to the church each visit.

That was about it I wasn't too hot today, but it was mostly combat oriented. When we have time to talk to npcs without the meat grinder that we are.

I really need suggestions other then the ending I don't have to much major story elements planned beyond minor npc encounters that the book describes or apply to my story.

The other part of the map!

Day 5 of 30 blog challenge.

I don't own a really cool set of dice, but my favorite die I own is my dad's old black white numbered D20, I recently started using it and it's a really nice solid die. It's just got more weight to it compared to my orange or red one (which is lost forever atm). I'd love to have a set of either gamescience dice or something clear but not hard to see.

Like  Noah Antwiler said if you can't see the number then the die is useless or just for show.

Thoughts. Also if you have any spare dice hit me up.

The Nerfing of Sir Jakothia

GROWING AND LEARNING!
You know our Paladin.
Things have gotten a little out of hand.
So I'm making this with some new knowledge from R.F.I. DM-Chad!
They're a great podcast! Take these words as advice for you're game too. I really needed some of these things cleared up for me. Thank you Chad!

Colin, I’ll try and answer some of your questions.* First, regarding the multiple attacks of fighters, keep in mind that fighters level 1-6 get only 1 attack per round. Now that said, when fighting a creature or NPC of less then 1 hit dice (i.e. something with a hit dice of less then a d8) then that fighter regardless of his/her own level is
entitled to as many attacks as he/she has levels. Thus a 2nd level fighter can attack a kobold twice per round. But when facing an orc, the same 2nd level fighter gets only 1 attack per round as orcs are 1 hit dice creatures (they roll a d8 for hit points).

*As for the paladin being over-powered, there are rules built into the system to keep them under control. First, paladins are not fighters and as such are not entitled to percentile strength. Many GMs allow them (and rangers) to have extraordinary strength as they are a fighter sub-class but strict interpretation of the PH will reveal that only fighters (not fighter sub-classes) get to add in a percentile for an 18 strength. This means that max bonus on your paladin’s to-hit and damage based on strength caps at +1 to-hit and +2 on damage. And also keep in mind that paladins cannot specialize in weapons. So barring a magical sword’s bonus to-hit bonus, they should never get more then a +1

to-hit bonus. Now if the paladin has a Holy Avenger (which is not likely at 3rd level) they do get to do an addition +10 damage to chaotic evil foes.

Along the same lines, the paladin has no choice when it comes to obeying the strictures of their religion. They either do and remain paladins in good standing, or they blow it off and become fighters. So whether or not your Player’s fighter needs to regularly attend church comes down to whether that is a stricture of his religion. And that most likely is up to you as the GM to determine since it is your world.

At the very least though, I would expect a paladin to pay their respects to those temples and shrines dedicated to their deity as they come across them in their adventuring (not to mention that they must obviously visit such places once a month to tithe). To do so without a good reason or only when it’s convenient would be both an insult to their diety as well as a chaotic act (as their would be no real planning or discipline of regularity involved, and that means they would no longer be a paladin).

The same chain of thought can be applied to the issue of tithing. They either do it as required or become be stripped of their paladin-hood and become a fighter. I wouldn't withdraw said tithe for your player, that’s the player’s responsibility. But you can give him/her an IC nudge via a sign from their deity; perhaps he stumbles across a rather loud burning bush or the next time he sleeps he gets a nastygram from his diety’s avatar saying pay up or ship out.
What was that you rolled a 20
and you were charging with a lance!
The dragon EXPLODES!
* As for treasure weight, just think of it this way, pick up a bag of pennies and then ask yourself how many such bags can you carry while walking all day. Factor this into wearing armor and also carrying provisions. You’ll have a good idea real fast why people today use credit cards.:)

***When having extraordinary strength does one roll percentile to hit or a d20? How does it work. So far I use a mix of the two systems and ideas from 3rd,etc
******Sorry, I forgot this one. When one has extraordinary strength (this being either above-average strength that allows bonus’ on to-hit and damage rolls or strength scores over a straight 18, ie an 18/75 str) you roll attacks as usual but factor in the associated bonus to the normal d20 roll to-hit.

So as you see from this Tl;dr.
Kobolds have an incredible chance of death.
Paladins don't have incredible strength.
Also treasure wracks up over a while.

Though what really is going on is I didn't really understand the limitations of the class.
I feel that he could still be successful with a +2(+1 sword from keep but I might make it disappear) or +5/4 vs demons and damage though thankfully I think this might make the game a little tougher.

At the moment
Sir Jakothia has a STR18/97 % so he's the max power super hero, I thought we needed a crutch. Yet I feel in the long run nerfing him will help balance the game out.

Now he will get like said above so he's still powerful, but not a level 2 GOD!

So here's how this will go down.

God: Yo dude why haven't you been helping the church! If you continue to disrespect me you will be stripped of your honor!

SJ:but but

God: No, no buts ZAP! or some sort of vision.

Also if I decide I'll have his +1 sword stolen to go after a lead.

He wakes up still a paladin but less powerful

Day 4 of 30

DAY 4
Game-worlds or more or less settings have been produced ever since the original OD&D books with Greyhawk and Blackmoor. Sadly I have never read these books or their AD&D iterations. I have read Dragonlance, as I own the book yet I can't say I'm versed in the books that well. I've only read it's source-book and yet to understand everything about DragonLance it's self.

But I think that if I were to have to decide. I'd say my favorite setting is making your own, or more or less using bits of others. DragonLances dragon men, or Raveloft's dark lords. I don't use those as of yet. But going with it and plane hopping is the main idea I like to use for settings. While Staying in one plane is cool and all. The idea of warping around like Doctor Who, or the D&D cartoon is what really draws me into the use for these settings.

Why drop your players into unknown lands? To challenge excite and keep the game fresh. All of D&D is about exploration and in it's purest form exploration is about unknown lands and tombs and treasures. So me using DragonLance then jumping to Blackmoor due to magic holes or devices is a fun part of why I like D&D and the story telling opportunities it gives.

Day 3 of 30

DAY 3

When I think of a favorite thing I'm terrible at it. Yet here we go the Wizard/mage/magic-user.
Is my favorite. Depending on how things go you can use devastating force against your opponents.
From the reign of pain that is Fireball to Otto's Irresistible Dance the magic-user has way more tools at their disposal then most classes. Staying in the side lines and peppering damage or just devastating in combat has it's ups and downs.
Also Magic missile ALWAYS HITS and a Staff of them is like a freaking machine gun of damage.
